There are some things we were never meant to carry for a lifetime – old wounds, outdated stories, heavy expectations, relationships that feel like walking uphill with no breath left in our lungs.
And yet… we carry them.
Because we loved them.
Because we feared the empty space they’d leave.
Because letting go feels like failure – even when holding on is quietly destroying us.
I used to believe that if I just held on tightly enough, things would go back to how they once were.
That if I stayed loyal, if I kept showing up, if I swallowed my needs,
they would notice. It would change.
But some things – no matter how much love you pour into them are not meant to last forever.
Some things are lessons, not lifelines.
Some people are chapters, not your entire story.
Some versions of yourself are meant to be outgrown.
There is no shame in setting something down when it becomes too heavy.
There is no guilt in saying, “This no longer serves me.”
You are allowed to evolve.
To protect your peace.
To love what once was without needing it to be what always is.
Healing asks us to open our hands, not tighten our grip.
So if you’re tired…
If you’re carrying a weight that no longer fits who you are becoming –
this is your permission to lay it down.
You are not weak for letting go.
You are brave for making room.
Room for peace.
For alignment.
For the life that’s waiting on the other side of release.
Because not everything is meant to be carried forever.
And darling, you don’t have to carry this anymore.
